Responsible for day-to-day operations of network, server and VDI infrastructure. Responsible for operations and improvements for all Credit Union network, server, VDI infrastructure. Work with management to deliver solutions to meet the Credit Union's business needs in an ever-changing technology field.
 
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
 
1. Install, configure, support and evaluate systems such as local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), wireless networks, datacenter and cloud storage, virtualized systems, end user compute devices, the internet, and other data communication systems. Install and maintain hardware and software, diagnose and correct systems and network problems, and monitor systems and networks to ensure availability to all system users. Perform necessary maintenance to support system and network availability. Coordinate with external support service if /when necessary.
2. Provide prompt, professional, courteous, informed, and accurate training and support for all system and network related issues, as well as other assigned issues, to all credit union staff as needed. Some after-hours work may be required for maintenance and after-hours troubleshooting.
3. Provide escalation support for other technology issues as needed, i.e. audio response system, email systems, automated telephone attendant, imaging, fax technology, electronic entry system, security and alarm systems, etc. Direct and/or participate in any software/hardware/network updates, conversions and upgrades, and resolve any failures or technical problems that occur.
4. Work with management to analyze business needs. Research, recommend, architect and implement solutions for all Credit Union IT assets including but not limited to: Systems, Network, VDI, end user computing, cloud computing, application environments and ancillary devices.
5. Provide escalation support to the IT team, as needed. Provide documentation and knowledge transfer to team members. Mentor team members as appropriate.
6. Assist in the ongoing maintenance and improvement of NorthCountry's local and wide area networks, virtualization environments, and end user devices. Recommend and implement changes to improve systems and network configurations. Determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes, to provide our members and employees an optimal technological experience.
7. Responsible for configuration and troubleshooting of Information Security infrastructure, including end-point protection, perimeter devices and log analysis. Analyze opportunities for improvement. Monitor security alerts, events, and trends. Recommend and implement new security infrastructure as needed alongside Information Security team.
8. Develop an understanding and working knowledge of the credit union history, philosophy, organization, bylaws, policies, procedures and appropriate software systems. Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:
 
Experience(4) Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
 
Education(3) (1) A two-year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
 
Interpersonal Skills(4) Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

Compensable FactorsManagerial Responsibility: (1) This role has no supervisory/managerial responsibilities.

Independent Judgment: (4) Role influences procedures, job standards, and specific policies within the functional unit. Significant discretion available in the role, requiring interpretation of specific policies, laws, and theories, affecting a specific department, branch, or division. Role makes daily operational decisions but requires collaboration on issues impacting strategic direction. This level is generally reserved for upper/middle management. This level may include non-management roles with significant decision-making authority that impact functional unit results.

Mental Aptitude: (4) The role solves complex problems and delivers solutions where past precedent may not exist. Requires a significant degree of creativity and the ability to analyze data, weighing the desirability and/or probability of possible outcomes in relationship to each other. May require formal education that provides working knowledge of discipline-specific theories or principles.

Organizational Authority: (2) Minimal Authority: The role has budgetary responsibility for a single branch, department, function, or major project. The budget authority is typically under 5% of the total operating budget. Decisions have a small impact on current results or impact a small number of members or employees. This includes non-management positions that generate revenue, manage large projects, or have authority to prevent a significant loss.

Organizational Restraint: (4) (1) Very limited supervision and inspection of work. Role is expected to function independently with consultative direction from supervisor. Errors may be difficult to detect and may require supervisor guidance to resolve. Errors can result in a significant loss of time with moderate financial impact. Role is often involved in identification and resolution of problems and errors of others with input from immediate supervisor. Often the most seasoned or specialized role, other than the supervisor within a function or discipline. (2) Supervises staff, managing the activities of a functional unit within the larger department. This typically includes supervisors, managers, and directors.
